Op 5 maart geeft Robbie Williams een intiem concert in Keulen voor slechts 300 luisteraars van commerciele Duitse radiozenders. Deelnemende zenders zijn Hit Radio FFH, Antenne Bayern, FFN en Radio NRW. Iedere zender promoot deze actie op zijn eigen manier. FFN, de marktleider in Niedersachsen doet dit heel creatief. In de actie “Robbie oder Rollmops?” kunnen luisteraars zich inschrijven om aan deze actie deel te nemen. Als ze worden uitgenodigd om mee te gaan komen ze volgende week vrijdag samen op de parkeerplaats van de zender in Hannover. Daar moeten ze kiezen uit twee bussen. Eén bus gaat naar Keulen en de mensen die in die bus zijn gestapt beleven een fantastisch concert van Robbie Williams. De andere bus gaat naar een haringkraam om rollmops te eten. En daarna terug naar de parkeerplaats.
Kortom een zeer spannende en creatieve radiopromotie. Genereert luistertijd, men spreekt er over in Nedersachsen en op FFN wordt veel gesproken over één van de belangrijkste artiesten, Robbie Williams. Erg mooi in de huidige meetperiode van de luistercijfers die in juli bekend worden gemaakt.

Pirate Bay CEO Peter Sunde will address the European radio industry, when he takes the stage during Europe’s new radio conference, RADIODAYS EUROPE, which takes place in Copenhagen on 18?19 March. More than 40 speakers from 16 countries across the globe will give their view on the future of radio in more than 25 sessions.
Sunde: Radio IS the future
”Forget Copyright!” says Peter Sunde, co-founder of the world’s largest file sharing network, the Pirate Bay, with 22 million users a month.
”Content is no longer associated with paper, records, cassettes or CDs. It is now digital files which can be easily copied and shared over the net, and it will be available for free anywhere. The music industry may try by all means to control it, but it won’t work. There will always be ways for intelligent users to get around the controls”, says Sunde. His prophecies for the music industry are rather gloomy, but he believes strongly in a bright future for radio.
”In a world increasingly dominated by information overflow we need help to sort out the new, relevant and interesting bits of content. I think radio will be even more important in the years to come – as an intelligent filter, a trusted guide and a good companion in our daily lives”, says Peter Sunde.
Still fighting in court
In April 2009, Peter Sunde and three partners were found guilty of: ”assisting (others) in copyright infringement”. They were sentenced to a year in prison and to pay 3 million Euro each to the music and film industries as compensation for lost profits. The verdict has been appealed to a higher court but the appeal trial has not been held yet. However, the big question is whether and how the music industry – and other producers of content – can win the copyright case in the long run.
